Money Obsession: How Trump’s Win is Making Billionaires Filthy Rich… And Why I Don’t Care!
I woke up this morning to the news that Donald Trump’s election win has sent the stock market soaring, and with it, the net worth of some of the world’s richest people. I have to admit, I’m always a bit skeptical when I see headlines like these. I mean, Elon Musk adding $26.5 billion to his wealth in a single day? It’s fascinating, sure, but it also makes me raise an eyebrow. I can’t help but notice that it’s mostly men at the top of these lists, turning the wealth game into some kind of ego war. I find it all a bit baffling, to be honest. I struggle to wrap my head around how these massive numbers translate into real-world impact.
I see these billionaires competing for the top spots, their net worths fluctuating like some high-stakes poker game, and I can’t help but think, does this make any sense? Is this the best use of our collective resources and attention? I’m not convinced. I find myself more interested in the everyday struggles and triumphs of ordinary people. The local businesses trying to stay afloat, the families saving for their first home, the teachers inspiring their students—these are the stories that truly captivate me.
