Mindfulness Part 1: Observe The Nature’s Clever Design
Have you ever noticed that horses have long faces? And you may have wondered why? The answer is simple: it’s because they can afford it!
Indeed, horses are large animals with powerful muscles. They don’t need to have a short face to bite hard. On the contrary, they can afford to have a long face, which gives them a certain advantage.
For example, a long face allows horses to see better what they are eating. This is important for them, as they are herbivores and therefore need to graze on grass and other plants.
In addition, a long face allows horses to breathe better. This is important for them, as they are animals that run a lot.
I remember the first time I saw a horse up close. I was amazed by its long face. I couldn’t help but wonder why it had such a long face. It seemed so out of place on such a large animal.
But now I know the reason. Horses have long faces because they can afford it. They are large animals with powerful muscles, so they don’t need to have a short face to bite hard.
This story of horses shows that nature is well-designed. Every animal is adapted to its environment and lifestyle.
Other animals that have long faces include:
- Elephants have long trunks, which they use to pick up food, water, and other objects.
- Giraffes have long necks, which allow them to reach leaves from high trees.
- Snakes have long bodies, which allow them to move quickly and easily through tight spaces.
In each case, the long face or body is an adaptation that helps the animal survive and thrive in its environment.
Nature is a fascinating place. There are so many amazing adaptations that animals have evolved over time. It’s always interesting to learn more about how and why animals are the way they are.
