How To Start Affiliate Marketing
My Secret to Making Money While I Sleep
If you are a freelancer like me, you know the struggle of feast or famine when it comes to projects. And if you are not a freelancer, you may think that you are too busy to make extra money. However, there is a way to make some extra cash, passively, without a ton of extra effort.
It’s called affiliate marketing, and you don’t even need a website. (Although having one can definitely be helpful.)
For starters, let’s clear the air: by “website,” I don’t mean some fancy, expensive domain and hosting situation. We’re bootstrapping here, remember? In fact, a simple Facebook page can work wonders. That’s what I did initially, but I eventually graduated to a free website builder called Webnode which has some significant advantages over a Facebook page. You can click here to start building your own website for free.
Now, onto the good stuff: picking your affiliate programs! Here are two of my favorites to get you started:
- Amazon Associates: This is a classic for a reason. It’s massive, easy to use, and chances are you already recommend stuff on Amazon anyway. Why not get paid for it? Just head over to their website and follow the instructions — they’ll ask you to link your website (even a Facebook page counts!).
