Four years ago, I took a leap of faith and launched my own tech marketing consulting business. The first month was BRUTAL. Zero clients, mounting bills, and a growing sense of dread. Days turned into weeks, then a month. I was calling former colleagues, scouring job boards, anything to get my foot in the door. Was this a massive mistake?

In a moment of desperation, I updated my LinkedIn profile and switched my status to "open to work." It felt like throwing a message in a bottle and hoping for the best. Then, a former colleague reached out.

A project! It wasn’t a dream contract, but it was a start. I poured everything I had into it, exceeding expectations. Word spread, and my network became my secret weapon. Referrals started pouring in.

Four years later, I’m booked solid with a thriving business. The moral of the story? Your network is your net worth. Nurture it, invest in it. It might just be the key to your success.
